How to grow Musa basjoo 'Tchetchenie'
Grows very fast if you plant it in full sun, with abundant watering and fertilizing. Easy, low maintenance, a great classic.
The leaves freeze off, but new ones quickly appear in spring. However, avoid indoors use. Banana leaves freeze off in winter, but new leaves grow from the stem in spring, and new offshoots grow around the main stem. The stem that has borne the fruit dies, but the survival of the banana tree is ensured by the offshoots (avoid moving them the first year).
